Nancy is a longtime resident of Frederick County, and graduated from Walkersville High School in 1980. She remembers how good the County public schools were back then, and wants to help restore them to their former level of academic quality.
She has the background to do that, with a Bachelor’s degree from McDaniel College, and a 25+ year career in human resources management. In her current role as the Director of Operations and Contracts for a professional membership association, she ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
“A solid educational curriculum,” says Ms. Allen, “should result in adults who have the capacity to think critically, apply historical knowledge to current situations, and understand their role as a citizen. Traditional civics, not “woke” indoctrination, should be part of the curriculum for every student.”
“As a Board member,” she asserts, “I will work to ensure that diversity and inclusion, while worthy goals, are not the focus of our children’s education. I’ll focus teacher training and FCPS curricula on providing a solid education based on academics.”
